Claiming Space: Advancing SRHR, Gender Justice, and Economic Inclusion
The Sustainable Youth Development Partnership (SYDP) is a regional movement driven by and for young people. Across Tanzania, Rwanda, and Zambia, we empower adolescents and youth to claim their rights, lead transformative change, and build inclusive futures. From advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) to creating economic opportunities, we stand for dignity, equality, and sustainable development.

A just and inclusive Africa where young people claim their rights, thrive, and lead sustainable change.
To empower adolescents and youth through rights-based programming, feminist leadership, and community-driven solutions that advance SRHR, gender equality, education, and livelihoods.
SYDP believes that when young people—especially girls and marginalized youth—are equipped with information, resources, and leadership opportunities, they can transform their own lives and communities. Our approach integrates service delivery, empowerment, and advocacy for immediate improvements and long-term systemic change.
Comprehensive programmes addressing the interconnected challenges facing young people in our region
We expand adolescent-friendly health services, train providers, and deliver comprehensive sexuality education in schools and communities. Mobile outreach clinics, peer educators, and digital platforms ensure information reaches even the most remote youth.
SYDP supports adolescent mothers to return to school and provides vocational and entrepreneurship training for vulnerable youth. We build networks of microenterprises, mentor groups, and savings clubs that give young people financial independence.
Youth councils, advisory panels, and advocacy scorecards ensure young people have a seat at the decision-making table. We build capacity for youth-led campaigns on SRHR, gender justice, and climate resilience, while engaging government and regional bodies.
SYDP operates in 18 districts across three countries, with locally tailored interventions contributing to regional knowledge-sharing and solidarity.
